Message from the President
Balmain Tigers finished the representative season on fire at the recently completed State Cup held 1st-3rd December, in Port Macquarie.
Balmain had three teams competing, Men's Open B, Senior Mixed and Women's Under 20's.
The Men's B team were narrowly beaten 6-7 in the semi-final of the the Men's Shield competition.
Senior Mixed, after going undefeated in the rounds, quarters, and semis, went down in the Grand Final 3-9 to a very good Murwullimbah Mavericks team.
And the Women's Under 20's, the first Balmain Women's U20's team in 20 years, played a terrific tournament to win the grand final of the Bowl 6-3. After having a tough loss against >Central Coast, the Vawdon Cup Youth Champions, on the first day, they went through undefeated from that point on to claim the FIRST Women's Open State Cup title in Balmain history.
The results of the teams at the State Cup combined with the results from the 2017 Vawdon Cup, of the Men's division 3 semi-finalists, and Women's division 3 grand final winners, also the first, in at least 25 years, concludes the MOST successful representative year in Balmain Touch history.
CONGRATULATIONS to all players, coaches and officials on a GREAT year well done to all!
